Scott Adams, Cartoonist Behind Dilbert, Dies at 68

Satirical cartoonist and conservative commentator behind the comic strip Dilbert, Scott Adams, has passed away at the age of 68. it was revealed online via YouTube livestream which was held by his ex-wife Shelly Miles in which she tearfully shared that Scott Adams had died after a battle with prostate cancer.

“I’m trying to be strong. If you are reading this, things did not go well for me. My body fell before my brain. I am of sound mind as I write this, January 1, 2026… If I wake up in heaven. I won’t need any more convincing than that. I hope I’m still qualified for entry with your permission…” – Scott Adams (farewell message read aloud by Shelly Miles)

Born in New York in 1957, Scott Adams made his debut with the Dilbert comic strip in 1989, the strip was a satirical view on the business and corporate world. By 1994 the comic was shared in more than 400 different newspapers. In 1996 he released his book The Dilbert Principle which would help see his work expand into an animated series which would see Emmy nominations.

In 2015, Adams work shifted into more political commentary in which he would spent much time praising the work of Donald Trump. He would go on to be dropped from many major newspapers in February of 2023 after describing black people as a “hate group” during a live stream in which he urged white people to stay away from them.
