Famous rapper couple, Cardi B and Biggie, have recently become proud parents to three irresistible meerkat pups. The birth of these adorable bundles of joy marks a special occasion for both the couple and the Scottish Safari park where the pups live.

Cardi B and Biggie joined the park’s meerkat family in April 2022. This is the first time meerkat pups have been born in the park in five years.

Busta, Missy, and Emmie (short for Eminem), the names chosen for the pups, reflect the musical legacy of their famous parents. Each name embodies the spirit of rap, just like Cardi B and Biggie themselves.

Meerkats, known for their strong social bonds, have a fascinating journey into the world. The pups are born underground, safeguarded from predators, after a pregnancy of approximately two and a half months. For the first ten days of their lives, their eyes and ears remain closed, creating an air of mystery around their early days. However, as they continue to explore, their curiosity leads them to open their eyes and ears, revealing the wonders of their surroundings.

During the pups’ early weeks, they are nurtured and protected in the cozy burrow under the careful watch of their doting parents. But as they reach three weeks of age, their inner explorer takes over, and they start venturing outside. It’s an adorable sight to witness these little ones bravely taking their first steps into the world.

Between four and six weeks old, the pups begin to try solid foods, showcasing their growing independence and readiness to take on the world. And by the time they reach sixteen weeks, they become fully self-sufficient, thriving in their unique meerkat ways.

When asked about the recent developments, Carolyn Booth, the Pets Farm Team Leader, shared, “Our pups emerged from their den on the 11th of August, so we estimate that they are now about a month old. We had been hearing some little squeaks from the burrow in the weeks prior, so we were hopeful that some pups were on the way. As the pups begin to explore their surroundings, we can see that they are growing more confident by the day.”
