That’s right the 2021 Mortal Kombat film has received the sequel treatment and it’s coming soon with many new and returning characters joining a new fight. Whilst the first film was led by a young MMA fighter named Cole Young, it appears he is taking his exit stage left to make room for a franchise fan-favourite Johnny Cage.
Johnny Cage, set to be played by the legendary Karl Urban, is a washed up action movie star who finds himself thrust into Mortal Kombat. You can check out the trailer below!
That’s right a master of the kung-fu arts and a god of lightning, are going up against a raging hulk from another world as skilled mystical ninjas duke it out and our only saviour is an out of work actor in his 50’s. Man this movie is going to be a cheesy, so bad it’s good, self-aware mess and I’m going to love it.
Mortal Kombat II drops in cinemas on October 24th.
