Former World No.1 tennis star Lleyton Hewitt is back on the court, but this time, he has traded his standard racket for a Joy-Con 2. He is teaming up with his son, pro-player Cruz Hewitt, to launch Nintendo Switch Sports Resort on the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.

Launching exclusively on October 22, the new game takes players back to the sunny shores of Wuhu Island. For the Hewitts, it is the perfect way to settle some family scores.

“We’ve always enjoyed playing the Nintendo Switch together, whether we’re at home or travelling, and there’s always a bit of competition when we get stuck into a game,” Lleyton shared. He noted that the two have had plenty of intense battles over the years, making this the perfect project to work on together.

So, what can players expect from the new island retreat? The game features 12 different sports built around intuitive motion controls. Fans can jump straight into returning favourites like Tennis, Archery, Boxing, Volleyball, and Table Tennis. If you are looking for something completely different, the game also introduces Thumb Wrestling and Skateboarding, the latter of which uses the brand-new Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.

Whether you want to gather your family around the TV for a holiday in your living room or connect with friends online, there is a sport for everyone. For those ready to upgrade, a special console bundle drops on the same day, packing the new Nintendo Switch 2, a full game download, and a 90-day online membership.
