Powderfinger Tour 2027: New Cities, Dates and Support Acts:
Powderfinger have added nine more shows to their 2027 reunion tour, branded The Encore Run, after the earlier dates sold out quickly!
Plus for fans in TAS and ACT who have already purchased tickets to shows in other cities will be able to apply for a refund. See details in FAQ on the Artist Page.

The expanded itinerary brings the Brisbane rock icons to Hobart and Canberra for the first time on this tour, while adding on extra nights in Melbourne, Perth and a pair of hometown outdoor shows in Brisbane.
Frontman Bernard Fanning said the band felt they had to respond after seeing how many fans missed out: “When we saw how many people missed out on tickets, we knew we couldn’t leave it there. So we’re adding some final shows, and we’ve been able to include dates in Hobart and Canberra, which we’re really excited about. We also have some very talented mates joining us. Thank you for keeping the faith and for being so patient. We can’t wait to see you out there.”

The first Powderfinger Live 2027 dates (initially 18 shows, expanded to 26 during presales) sold roughly 300,000 tickets in about six days. Those shows ran from early September through early November across Brisbane Showgrounds, Cairns’ Cazalys Stadium, Perth’s Wellington Square, Sydney’s The Domain, Adelaide’s Ellis Park and Melbourne Park Oval. The new Encore Run sits later in the year as a final series of dates.

Why the reunion

In interviews, Fanning and guitarist Darren Middleton described the decision as joyful and long-considered. Their children were a major catalyst, as they were too young to see the band in its earlier years. Cold Chisel’s anniversary shows also influenced the outdoor, stadium-scale big-top format. The five-piece classic lineup of Fanning, Middleton, Ian Haug, John “JC” Collins and Jon Coghill kept the reunion quiet for about 18 months before confirming. They have ruled out a new album for now (citing Jimmy Barnes’ advice not to record immediately after a reunion) but remain open to writing later. Rehearsals are set to begin in December. The tour also partners with Mission Australia to raise awareness of homelessness and fundraise.
This is Powderfinger’s first major national tour since their 2010 farewell run, which itself sold about 220,000 tickets. The mix of new cities stacked Australian support acts, and the demand turned Live into one of the biggest Australian rock stories of the year.
