A woman has been arrested after crashing her car into a Whyalla home while allegedly trying to evade police.
At about 2:45am on 29 July, a patrol car attempted to stop a red Commodore on George Avenue in Whyalla Norrie, for a routine driver test.
The vehicle turned into Clutterbuck Street and allegedly sped off along a backstreet when police activated its emergency lights to signal the car to stop.
The chase ended a short time later when the Commodore failed to navigate a wet T-junction at Hincks Avenue and slammed into the front of a house.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash.
The 24-year-old Whyalla Stuart woman was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including driving while disqualified, failing to stop, dangerous driving, property damage and drug driving after she allegedly tested positive to methamphetamine. She was also issued a drug diversion for drug possession.
She was granted bail and is expected to appear in the Whyalla Magistrates Court on 9 September. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
