Two teens have been arrested following a series of break-ins, car thefts and property damage across Whyalla.
It’s alleged several properties were targeted and two cars stolen in linked incidents between October 19 and 20.
Following an investigation, the stolen cars were recovered and have since been returned to their owners.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on 21 October in connection to the incidents. He has been charged with serious criminal trespass, illegal use of a motor vehicle, property damage, breach of bail, and possessing a prohibited weapon after a machete was allegedly discovered hidden down his pants.
Two days later, a 13-year-old boy was arrested in Whyalla Norrie after evading police in a car park. He was charged with serious criminal trespass, illegal use of a motor vehicle, property damage, theft and breach of bail.
The 14-year-old boy was refused police bail and faced Youth Court on October 27, while the 13-year-old is expected to appear in Youth Court on 12 November.
