A driver has been fined and his vehicle defected after his truck’s load was deemed ‘dangerously’ stacked.
At around 1am on Saturday police intercepted a truck towing a single semi-trailer loaded with scrap metal and other objects on Playford Avenue.
According to authorities the load was not adequately restrained and was hanging off the side of the trailer.
A variety of further safety issues were found when authorities conducted an inspection of the vehicle.
The driver and owner operator, a 41-year-old Eyre Peninsula man, was handed several fines totalling more than $2500 and lost 3 demerit points.
The trailer was also defected and will face a full inspection.
