The Port Broughton Civic Square upgrade has commenced.
Barunga West Council began demolition work at the start of the month to facilitate preliminary tasks, including relocating a SA Water main and adjusting irrigation pipework.
As the water feature’s design is finalized, preliminary construction is underway, with a water play area integral to the upgrade.
Barunga West Council Mayor Leonie Kerley expressed enthusiasm for the project’s initiation and its anticipated positive impact.
The water feature’s final design is expected soon, with minor contractual matters being resolved before the construction contract’s execution.
The timeline aims for completion within 10 weeks, possibly coinciding with the peak summer tourist season.
Construction is projected to begin no later than mid-September.
