Agriculture students at St Mark’s College in Port Pirie are collecting almost 50 kilograms of coffee grounds from a local fast-food chain every week for composting on the school’s farm.
Year 8 St Mark’s students Lily Markel and Georgia Clements came up with the idea of sourcing coffee grounds.
Now, they are collecting about 49 kilograms each week that would otherwise go to landfill.
