A new state-of-the-art health, research, and education centre is on the way for Port Augusta…
$1 million in state government funding has been granted through the Enabling Infrastructure Program and will go towards construction of the $21 million facility.
Regional Development Minister Clare Scriven says the clinic will support up to 25,000 patient consultations every year, as well as serving as an education and training base.
We’re told the centre will provide increased access to multi-disciplinary primary health care for the local community and for more than 1600 existing RFDS clients who live remotely but visit Port Augusta regularly.
The build is currently out for tender – over 200 full time equivalent jobs will be created during the construction phase.
