Various works and maintenance will be taking place around Port Pirie from today.
Maintenance work on Main Road between Alpha Terrace and Mary Elie Street has begun, to improve the safety of the road.
Speed restrictions of 25km per hour and a single lane closure are in place, with work expected to continue until Monday 23 June.
Meanwhile, the footpath in front of the Port Pirie Hospital on The Terrace has also started, improving its safety and accessibility.
The works are part of the Council’s ongoing Footpath Renewal and Replacement Program.
During the works, temporary fencing will be installed, which will restrict some car parks.
Works on the footpath upgrade are expected to finish by the end of the financial year.
Remediation works are also underway at Fisherman’s Wharf, in response to growing community concerns.
From today, there will be restricted marine access and work zones at the Wharf and the Solomontown boat ramp.
Only the west lane of the boat ramp will be affected, with the other three lanes open during the works.
The Council are aiming to complete the remediation within the next two weeks.
