The Northern Festival Centre is gearing up for the construction of an all-access elevator, set to start on August 1 and finish before the end of the year.
During this time, Country Arts SA will live stream performances for patrons who can’t use the stairs in an all-access seating area, resembling a theatre box, that accommodates motorized chairs or regular seating.
Though not the same as live shows, it provides access in the interim.
Patrons are advised to plan for entry and exit delays, as only one set of stairs will be available.
The new elevator, a joint effort by Country Arts SA and the SA Government, aims to provide better accessibility for the people of Port Pirie and surrounding regions.
