A man has been arrested following an alleged break-in at a Port Augusta golf club early Tuesday morning.
Police were called to the property on Hamilton Road at Port Augusta West about 4:30am on June 16, after reports an alarm had been triggered at a shed.
On arrival, patrols saw a Toyota ute leaving the address and followed the vehicle for a short distance before it sped away.
About 10 minutes later, the ute was located dumped on Barrett Close, where a man was arrested nearby.
Police allege the vehicle was stolen from an equipment shed at the golf club during the incident.
A 34-year-old Port Augusta man has been charged with serious criminal trespass, theft and possessing break-in tools. He has been bailed to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on July 27.
Investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
