Inclusivity in Port Augusta recognised state-wide

Port Augusta Council has been recognised for its Access and Inclusion Program, taking home the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award at the 23rd Annual Leadership Awards ceremony on Friday, 10 May.

The Access and Inclusion Program helps residents with disabilities learn skills and gain employment.

Ten people have participated in the program so far, undertaking 26 weeks of intensive training to equip them with vital skills.

Mayor Linley Shine was excited and grateful for the recognition.

“Winning the Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award is a remarkable accomplishment for the Port Augusta City Council, Shine says.

“It demonstrates our dedication and hard work in promoting diversity and inclusion, and we are honoured to receive this recognition.”
