Hallett Group is is weeks away from breaking ground on a landmark Port Augusta facility designed to produce low-carbon ‘green cement’ using industrial waste.
Supported by $100 million, including a $51 million green loan from Commonwealth Bank, and a $20 million federal grant, this venture aims to replace over 50% of carbon-intensive clinker-based cement.
The Port Augusta hub will process these materials, while Port Adelaide will serve as a distribution centre.
Notably, the unique 42m-high dome in Port Adelaide will minimizes dust and blends materials efficiently.
This initiative is set to create over 50 jobs, with commissioning in late 2024.
