A 31-year-old woman has been reported for multiple offences after allegedly attempting to flee from police during a traffic stop in Peterborough.

Just after 5.30pm on 27 July, patrols spotted a Ford SUV on Wright Street. As the vehicle came to a stop, the driver allegedly attempted to walk away from the scene but was quickly stopped by officers.

It is further alleged she returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.097 – nearly twice the legal limit. Further checks revealed her driver’s licence was disqualified and the car’s registration had expired earlier this year.

The woman was reported for drink driving, driving while disqualified, and driving an unregistered vehicle. Her car was impounded for 28 days, and she was issued an immediate six-month loss of licence.

She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
