Australian Men Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer Significantly Outpacing Population Growth

New figures reveal the number of Australian men diagnosed with prostate cancer is significantly outpacing population growth.

The data reveals a 571% increase in national case numbers between 1982 and today, with lower survival rates in REGIONAL and RURAL AREAS a continuing cause of concern.

It comes as the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia launches its Perfect Match campaign ahead of Men’s Health Week (12-18 June).

The Foundation’s CEO, Anne Savage, says more funds and research is needed to address growing rates of the disease and poorer outcomes for men outside the major capitals.
