Commercial fishers are being offered fee relief in the wake of the state’s ongoing algal bloom, which has triggered fish kills along Yorke Peninsula beaches.
The State Government has announced an initial package of $500,000.
Fishermen will be able to either get a refund on fees or have a credit moving forward.

However, some local fishers are saying the package barely scratches the surface of the crisis, with Ardrossan-based line fisherman Michael Pennington telling News Corp the assistance should go beyond licence fee alleviation.
The algal bloom was first detected in March.
