A Whyalla man has been arrested after allegedly trying to evade police by hiding in scrubland.
Police spotted an off-road motorbike being ridden along Noble Street about 1am Wednesday without headlights or a number plate, before following it at a distance as it entered nearby scrub.
The bike and a backpack were later found abandoned, with officers allegedly uncovering prescription drugs, GHB and a glass pipe inside.

After conducting a search of the area, police located the alleged rider hiding nearby. The 22-year-old returned a positive test for methamphetamine.
He’s been charged with a string of offences including riding without a licence, drug driving and possessing a controlled drug, and will front Whyalla Magistrates Court in July.
