Whyalla Little Athletics scores $5,000 boost from Coles

Whyalla Little Athletics Centre is one of 72 grassroots clubs nationwide awarded a grant from the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund.

They’ll receive $5,000 to purchase new timing gates – aimed at improving the experience for young athletes and volunteers.

The funding is part of a $250,000 boost from Coles, as Little Athletics records a 16 percent surge in participation across the country, with the biggest jump in the Tiny Tots program for kids aged 3 to 5.

Over the past five years, Little Athletics has grown by more than 40 percent, now reaching over 96,000 children.

The next round of funding will open in 2026.
