It will be an action-packed weekend across the regions, with the footy grand finals kicking off tomorrow.
The Spencer Gulf League will have a new premiership team this year, following PropRisdon’ loss to Port in last week’s preliminary final.
Port will instead take on Solomontown, who have won one of the last four grand finals.
Port are looking to break their dry spell – they haven’t won a premiership since 2008 – with their last A grade grand final appearance back in 2011.
Both teams have played each other four times this season, with Solomontown winning three of those games.
Memorial Oval in Port Pirie will host the Spencer Gulf grand final tomorrow at 2.40pm.
Meanwhile, in the Northern Areas League, Crystal Brook will be looking to finish their season undefeated as they chase their first flag since 2018.
They’ll host Orroroo at Victoria Park in Jamestown tomorrow.
Orroroo have been the second-strongest team this season – and have a history of winning as underdogs – having beaten favourites BMW in 2023.
It’s a battle between the two most successful teams in the competition’s history, with Crystal Brook having won 23 flags and Orroroo 13.
The game kicks off at 2.50pm.
Over in the North Eastern League, powerhouse BSR are taking on Min Man Eagles.
BSR are out for revenge after the Eagles beat them in the Qualifying Final by just six points two weeks ago.
If they win, it will be BSR’s sixth premiership in a row, having won seven flags in the past eight years.
Meanwhile, Min Man are looking to break their own premiership drought, having last won the flag in 2012.
The North Eastern grand final will be held at Spalding Oval, with the first bounce at 2.15pm.
And it’s a clash of the titans in the Yorke Peninsula League, with two regular grand finalists once again going head-to-head.
CMS Crows will take on Moonta in the decider, marking Moonta’s fourth consecutive grand final appearance.
CMS have also featured in all but one of those grand finals, missing out in 2023.
Both teams have won six premierships each, with tomorrow’s game set to break the deadlock between the two clubs.
The game kicks off at 2.15pm at Maitland Oval.
