Multi-platinum, GRAMMY® Award-winning artist, DJ and producer Zedd has released his new single “Good Thing” with GRAMMY® Award-nominated R&B sensation Kehlani today. Zedd first announced the new single last Friday when he posted a teaser featuring the song’s opening staccato melody to much fanfare on social media. “Good Thing” builds with Zedd’s percussive production as Kehlani delicately croons, “I’m good by myself, don’t need no one else, don’t tell me that you got a good thing for me, ‘cause I already got a good thing.”
“It’s been a while since I was THIS excited about a song. To me, “Good Thing” brings all of my musical influences together. It has elements of pop, jazz, electronic and even soul. It feels like a journey of all the genres of music I’ve made and enjoyed throughout my life,” shares ZEDD. “Getting to work on this song with Kehlani was incredible. She’s such an unbelievable talent and I’m so honored we got to do this song together. “
The release of “Good Thing” comes as Zedd is currently embarking on the North American leg of his headlining world tour, The Orbit Tour. It follows a massive year of live shows for Zedd which has also included playing the mainstage at Coachella in the spring, headlining Red Rocks in June, and the return of ZEDD IN THE PARK in Los Angeles earlier this month.
ABOUT ZEDD: Multi-platinum, GRAMMY® award-winning artist, DJ, and producer Zedd made his debut with Clarity after signing with Interscope in 2012 and has been breaking down barriers surrounding music genres ever since. Zedd kicked off 2019 with his first single of the year, “365” with Katy Perry which Rolling Stone heralded as a “breezy” and “hypnotic.” “365” came on the heels of a massively successful 2018 which included teaming up with Shawn Mendes for a remix of “Lost In Japan,” his single “Happy Now” with Elley Duhé, and his monster hit, “The Middle” with Maren Morris and Grey. Digitally, the song has amassed over 1 billion streams. In December 2018, Zedd received three GRAMMY® nominations for “The Middle,” including nominations for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Pop Duo or Group Performance. In 2015, Zedd released True Colors, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.
