Which tv show is better: Seinfeld or Freinds? The debate rages on, but if you worked for Robert De Niro, only one of those shows will net you a US$ 6 million lawsuit.
Chase Robinson, a former empoylee of De Niro's Canal Productions has been accused of embezzling funds and spending "astonomical" ammounts of time streaming Netflix on company time, including 55 episodes of Friends over a four day period in January, as well as 20 episodes of Arrested Development plus 10 episodes of Schitt's Creek over a four day period in March (leaving the best for last, right?).
According to the lawsuit, "Watching shows on Netflix was not in any way part of or related to the duties and responsibilities of Robinson’s employment" - tough break. Mercifully, such a lawsuit is unlikely in Australia, considering that Friends only streams on Stan.
Please don't show my boss this article or it will embolden him to sue me, as I'm constantly stealing company funds to buy candy and this article should have been posted hours ago but I got stuck bingeing episodes of Ice Road Truckers. Keep this between you and me ;)
