I suppose on a broad conceptual level we all knew Apple were going to launch their own original television streaming service, but I think we'd all be lying if we said we were holding our breath to see yet another streaming platform pop up.
The service, named Apple TV+ will launch in September and we finally have an idea of what their programming might look like thanks to a new trailer for The Morning Show (which will actually be renamed Morning Wars in Australia to avoid confusion with an existing morning tv program.)
The series, starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carrell appears to take a dark (and maybe comedic?) look at the day-to-day lives of morning television journalists - and whilst there's no sign of this in the teaser, I imagine we'll see the actors actual faces and not just their disembodied voices...
What do you think? Will this be another great television satire in the same vein as 30 Rock or The Newsroom, or will it be a forgetabble missfire like Back To You starring Kelsey Grammar? Will we even know how to access the content on Apple TV+? There's no way of knowing until the service launches on September 20.
