Three missions to Mars are imminent. You might have heard about the United Arab Emiriates Hope spacecraft, due to land on the Martian surface any moment now - there's also China's Tianwen-1 mission, expected in another 24 hours or so, and NASA's 'Perseverance' rover, due in another week.
These missions reflect billions of dollars and the worlds finest minds, all in pursuit of finding answers about our universe. I am, arguably, after bigger answers, namely where is my keep cup?
The cup in question was purchased at the visitor information centre in Woomera, and I'd love to show you a photo but it's missing. I do have the lid, but now it serves mainly as a reminder that the drinking vessel is nowhere to be seen.
Do I think it's on Mars? Not likely. What is likely is that it got moved when somebody cleaned up my desk at work whilst I was on annual leave. What I will say, however, is that it's worth looking, just in case. When are we going to be on Mars again?
Any effort on the part of three leading space agencies would be appreciated. Worst case scenario, they point one of their big surveilance sattelites at our region and do a full scan for me.
Thanks guys. I don't think you're huge nerds x
