The Yorketown Airstrip will undergo a facelift after scoring over $300,000 in Federal funding.
The Yorke Peninsula Council received the grant through the Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program that provides funding for upgrades to remote airstrips in isolated outback communities.
The program aims to enhance the safety and accessibility of aerodromes in remote areas of Australia and enable the improved delivery of essential goods and services including health care.
The runway will be sealed with the funding, enhancing the safety and accessibility of the airstrip.
Round 6 of the program delivered over $10 million in funding for 34 remote aviation projects across the country.
