New exploration technology has led to a breakthrough in Burra, with the discovery of potential new copper targets.
The find will not only help boost copper target assessment in the area but widen the potential to discover larger regional iron oxide copper gold depositions in the Mid North.
Ausmex Mining Managing Director, Mr Matthew Morgan says new technology uncovered potential plumes of copper mineralisation just east of Burra.
The plumes are similar to those found at Olympic Dam and the Carrapateena mines in the Far North.
Ausmex has access to around 7,400 square kilometres of exploration ground around Burra, the company says the initial results warrant further follow-up.
