Liberty Primary Steel representatives are currently in Italy working on early design elements for the new Whyalla Rail and Heavy Structural Mill.
Work has begun on the ground in Whyalla, providing geotechnical data for the design engineering stage.
The $600 million transformation of the Whyalla Steelworks was announced in December by Executive Chairman, Sanjeev Gupta.
The transformation aims increase production to 1.8 million tonnes of high quality, high‐end steel per year.
