Improving community safety is high on the Port Pirie Council’s agenda with an extensive CCTV project about to get underway.
Twenty new cameras will be installed at locations around Port Pirie, including the CBD, Flinders View Park, Woodward Park and more.
New sites will have cameras installed while replacement cameras will be issued at several existing locations.
The Project received just under $100,000 in funding through the Australian Government’s Safer Communities Fund.
Council will also install two new recorders, the replacement of monitoring hardware and CCTV signage.
The grant will support Council’s effort to address crime, antisocial behaviour and other security risks.
