The Mount Remarkable Council is continuing the fight to widen the Spring Creek Bridge.
In February the council had written to the Minister for Transport and Local Government Stephan Knoll requesting a review of the width of the bridge for safety concerns.
Minister Knoll responded, advising that the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure recognise the narrow width of the Spring Creek Bridge.
The Department advised that safety measures such as width markers and signs are in place and considered adequate for drivers to be able to modify their speed.
Council will continue to advocate for the bridge to be widened due to safety concerns from the community.
