Community's Benefit From Regional Safety Grants

CFS.jpgCommunity organisations on the Yorke Peninsula and in the Mid North will benefit from the RAA’s Regional Safety Grants.

The selected organisations will share in $50,000 to fund critical projects that will improve the safety of local communities.

50 applications were received from regional community groups for this year’s RAA Regional Safety Grants, which provide much-needed support to small communities.

The organisations that will benefit include:

  • Bute CFS Brigade (Northern Yorke Peninsula) - $1,441 to purchase lighting equipment to stow on the Brigade’s vehicle to assist with rescue operations at night.
  • Centacare Catholic Country SA Limited (Eyre Peninsula, Mid & Far North) - $8,200 to help fund the Fields of Strength project, which has been designed to boost suicide intervention support in drought-affected communities.
  • Hardwicke Bay Progress Association (Lower Yorke Peninsula) - $5,000 to build safety fencing around Progress Park in Hardwicke Bay, which is in the process of being upgraded for local families and visitors.
