Regional aged care facilities across the state will receive federal funding as part of a $4 million investment to the sector.
It will fund delivery of higher-level care at 7 Multi-Purpose Service centres in South Australia, with Copperhouse Court in Whyalla receiving an extra $29,000 in funding.
Member for grey Rowan Ramsey says the support for aged care helps address the regional imbalance in aged care costs.
He says the Viability Supplement recognises the cost of delivering aged care outside the capital cities is higher and 42 facilities across the electorate will benefit.
Privately owned and the not-for-profit sector will benefit from the boost as well as the state government-owned units attached to local hospitals.
