Regional hospitals are set to benefit from a $400,000 grant from the Hospital Research Foundation.
Country hospitals across the state will receive new equipment, enabling regional patients to be treated closer to home.
Hospitals in Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Whyalla and Clare will receive a pedal exercise machine for patients in their dialysis units.
The Port Augusta Hospital will also receive a portable ultrasound machine for renal dialysis patients.
Continuous glucose monitoring systems for patients with diabetes will be installed at the Whyalla, Port Broughton, Peterborough and Clare hospitals.
Country hospitals with on-site theatres will also receive video laryngoscopes.
The Hospital Research Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Flynn says the Foundation was pleased to support patient care initiatives in regional South Australia.
