A $700 million solar and pumped hydro development could be built next year near Port Pirie if the project wins approval.
Rise Renewables says 500 people could be employed during the construction phase at the site in Baroota.
The State Commission Assessment Panel is currently reviewing the plans and if successful the project could be operational by 2021.
The development includes pumped hydro which will provide up to 270MW of grid-connected power, and a solar farm, with over 900,000 panels, generating up to 300MW.
The plans have been released for public consultation, with submissions due on October 19.
