The RSPCA is asking the public to help identify the person responsible for recent crossbow attacks on kangaroos near Whyalla.
RSPCA were able to locate and euthanise one kangaroo suffering from a crossbow wound however there have been numerous sightings of kangaroos still alive with arrows still in them.
The arrows removed from the animal were designed for shooting targets, not hunting.
Injured kangaroos have been seen on council land near residential areas as well as on private property.
Crossbows are illegal weapons and anyone found hunting wildlife with one could face massive fines or jail time.
The RSPCA is urging anyone with information on the kangaroo attacks to contact the Cruelty Report Hotline on 1300 477 722.
