Wilmington main street the focus of new funding

District Council of Mount Remarkable have matched a grant from the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure- all to go towards upgrading their main street.
All in all-the figure is around $280,000 worth.
The main street also known as the Horrocks Highway has a lot of traffic on it at the best of times-and the road is so dated, its still got the original design in place to give wagons and horses room to turn around on.
Council says they’ll spend the next 12 months further consulting with the community and completing construction to create what they’ve dubbed a more ‘aesthetically pleasing main street.’
