Construction starts on new renewable energy project outside Peterborough

solar panel.jpgConstruction has officially started on a new 4.9MW solar farm on the outskirts of Peterborough.
A private investor; Renew Power, partnered with a local company in Port Pirie -and decided that the best place to build was a section just outside Peterborough.
When it’s up and running, it’ll be the largest solar farm in the state; and there’s been about 40 locals given employment opportunities on it.
However, as is typical with renewable energy projects, In march, which is THE estimated completion date, not many will be required to operate it.
Nevertheless Peterborough Mayor-Ruth Whittle -says it’s given seven of their locals a job-and pulled in families of those working on it to the region-which is all good news.
