Whyalla Police respond to a new year of car break-ins

police light.jpgIt may be a New Year, but there’s still the same headache for Whyalla Police.
Over the weekend seven separate cars were allegedly broken into- a problem that local police have been dealing with since October last year.
Of the seven cars; five of which were broken into on Sunday night alone, most had either their windows smashed, or simply been left unlocked.
The focus of the thieves was once again wallets or any property that could be seen from outside the cars.
There were a number of vehicle break-ins last year, however most of these came about from cars being unlocked.
As a result police are now urging locals to keep valuables out of eye shot, and keep photographs of all personal items.
If you observe any suspicious behavior or have had property stolen from your vehicle- you can report it immediately by calling the Police Assistance line on 131 444.
