Whyalla takes out another state award

award.jpgAnother Whyalla community group has been recognised at a state awards night.
Cultana Jenkins Shackowners Association got through to the semi-finals at the 2017 South Australia Community Achievement Awards.
It was a bustling night; more than 240 guests were invited including Government MP Zoe Bettison.
Despite not getting through to the final round, they did get a certificate of achievement; a reward for their work in tourism and protecting the coastlines.
In total they look over about 80 shackowners north of Point Lowly lighthouse, and they’ve done a good job in getting troops of caravans back to the area each year.
Association Chairperson Colin Fullerton says it’s recognition of what the group does, and will keep the motivation for them to stay on the right track.
