Arrium steelworks proceeds to next step of sale

Steelworks generic.jpg16 months of speculation and doubt looks to finally be over for Arrium employees and the broader SA community, as CFG alliance’s bid for the steelworks was given the, “all clear” by the creditors committee.
The approval of the bid is the last significant hurdle in the sale process, with only a small number of formalities remaining before the sale becomes “official”.
CFG alliance’s Sanjeev Gupta, will visit Whyalla on Monday to tour the steelworks, address the media and talk to workers.
Mayor Lyn Breur says the community feels; “very confident” and, “very optimistic”-after a long period of uncertainty while lead administrator Mark Mentha greeted the news, labelling it as ending a volatile 16 month administration of; complexity, and an extraordinary trading environment.
