The Yorke Peninsula Council have stated that, “The Yorke Peninsula Spirit is stronger than ever,” after the community has banded together to restore areas affected by the bushfires.
Company BlazeAid have coordinated the ‘clean up’ with the restoration projects deemed to be on track by council.
Large amounts of burnt out fence lines, stone walls and general debris were removed from the Yorketown area, this was achievable through the donation of a Yorke Peninsula Council grader and two Council operators.
147 volunteers have worked on the project so far with 195km of fences cleared in the area.
