Serious Crash in Port Wakefield

Police are at the scene of a serious crash at Port Wakefield.

About 10.20am, Thursday 7 November, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of the Copper Coast and Augusta Highways after reports of a crash between a car and a truck.

Major diversions are in place for those travelling northbound towards Port Augusta, you will be diverted onto Copper Coast Highway, Mail Road and will then need to take Beaufort Road back to Augusta Highway.

Southbound on Augusta Highway will be diverted at Beaufort Road, Mail Road then travel south on Copper Coast Highway.

There will be no access along the Augusta Highway for heavy vehicles.  They will be stopped at Port Wakefield for northbound and at Augusta Highway and Beaufort for southbound.

There is only one lane open on the Copper Coast Highway for both north and south traffic. Expect major delays.
