Dog owners who have not renewed their dog registration now technically own unregistered dogs and may be issued with a $170 expiation notice.
South Australian councils may apply a late payment fee for dog registrations. However, Yorke Peninsula Council is currently running a grace period and will impose a late payment fee of $20 from Monday September 16.
Council urges those who have not renewed their registration to do so immediately to avoid the late payment fee and a possible expiation notice.
If your dog is now within a different council area or deceased, you’re advised to update your details with Yorke Peninsula Council.
You can contact council on 8832 0000 or log onto Dogs and Cats Online.
