Drought Funding Provides Walkway for Popular Reserve

Residents in Clare now have a walkway to the Pinks Reserve thanks to the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Fund.

The new footpath provides walkers, runners and cyclists with an easier route from Riesling Trail to Pinks Reserve in the Clare Valley.

The Riesling Trail Committee worked with the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council (CGVC) to lock in local contractors to complete the work.

Pink Reserve boasts over 60 indigenous species of plant life as well as wildlife wandering around.

The reserve has also been a Bush for Life site for over 10 years and was gifted to CGVC by Geoff and Ron Pink 50 years ago to honour their father, Francis Pink.
