SA Water will soon begin work to replace around 600 metres of water main in Beaufort.
The new pipe, which is being laid beneath Wheat Road, is part of SA Water’s four-year, $155 million water main management program.
SA Water’s General Manager of Sustainable Infrastructure, Amanda Lewry, says the new pipe is made from PVC, which is known for having better flexibility and being more resistant to soil movement.
Local residents and road users are asked to take note of traffic management signs, and any customers affected by temporary water supply interruptions will be notified.
Construction is estimated to be complete in around five weeks.
