The Yorke Peninsula Council is getting ready to put the final touches on its SYP Water Tower Mural Trail with two new murals on the way.
The Minlacowie water tank, which can be seen when travelling between Minlaton and Yorketown, measures almost six metres high and more than 100 metres around - making it the biggest to be painted in the region’s history.
Wool Bay’s water tank is also set to become a work of art, with current ideas from residents centring on the town’s history and native flora and fauna.
Yorke Peninsula Mayor, Darren Braund, is now calling on the wider community to help with design options for both tanks.
He says, “Our current murals depict key aspects of the towns where they are located, but the Minlacowie tank being in no specific town means we can potentially create a mural that reflects the wider region.”
