Serious Crash On The Yorke Peninsula

police news

A man has been seriously injured in a crash in Yorke Peninsula.

Just before 7.30pm on Tuesday, police and emergency services were called to Yorke Highway at Warooka after reports of a single car crash.

A Holden Monaro had left the road and travelled through scrubland before colliding with a tree.

The driver, a 24-year-old man from Flagstaff Hill, and the front passenger, a 31-year-old Warooka man, received minor injuries and were treated at the local hospital.

However, the rear male passenger, a 23-year-old man from Point Turton, sustained serious injuries and has been flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he is being treated.

The highway was closed for a short time following the incident while emergency services were on scene, but was reopened in the early hours of yesterday morning.
