Member for Stuart Dan van Holst Pellekaan was sworn in as the new Deputy Premier of South Australia late yesterday, during a ceremony with the Governor.
Although the gig isn’t officially his yet, with the ceremony largely administrative, and a vote this Thursday amongst the party room to likely confirm the appointment.
The job was left available following former Deputy Premier, Vickie Chapman, stepping down from the role while the state ombudsman investigates her conduct around the decision to not allow the construction of a port at Kangaroo Island.
Mr van Holst Pellekaan was elected to the South Australian Parliament as the Member for Stuart in 2010.
