Clare, Balaklava, Port Augusta and Minlaton will all benefit from grant funding following the announcement of the Building Better Regions Fund successful applicants for each of the round 5 streams.
Infrastructure Projects stream funding focuses on supporting regional tourism, with $125 million committed to 81 tourism-specific infrastructure upgrades, including the Clare sports precinct redevelopment which will receive over $2.5 million and Balaklava’s pool for all which has been promised over $1.5 million.
The list of successful applicants that have been offered funding under the Community Investments stream for round 5, featured the Kati-Thanda Lake Eyre Water Event Response Plan in Port Augusta which will receive $20 thousand, as well as the Yorke Peninsula Tourism Plan 2026 which will also receive $20 thousand.
Clare Sports Club Inc – Precinct Redevelopment $2,534,604
The project will construct a new purpose-built sporting facility, resurface the oval and upgrade the lighting system.
Wakefield Regional Council – Balaklava’s Pool for All $1,586,029
The project will replace the main pool and include upgrades to the Balaklava pool.
Outback Communities Authority – Kati-Thanda Lake Eyre Water Event Response Plan $20,000
The project will deliver a strategy to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the intermittent flooding events in Kati-Thanda Lake Eyre
Tourism Marketing Committee, Yorke Peninsula Incorporated – Yorke Peninsula Tourism Plan 2026 $20,000
The project will develop a Yorke Peninsula tourism strategic plan for the next five years.
